Erika Kruger - The Black Box, The Concealed Room
For her work in the Degree of Master of Design at Victoria University of Wellington, 2004 I sampled the following images so I may reflect upon them in the below reflection.
Slide 44 and 45
In the above images of Erika Kruger’s work she shows exceptional attention to detail with her presentation techniques’; with her use of error which appears to be intentional smudges, her sketchy yet defined lines and her use of variations of blue, gray and black. I believe such techniques add to the character of the client in which she is producing work for. The work is framed with an interesting boarder, which appears to be a peeled back Polaroid photo evoking the notion of peeling back the layers to see the real thing, the truth.
In my design I feel if I had had had the diligence and attention to detail as Erika Kruger had then my pervious work would have been of much greater quality. The use of intentional errors or lack there of to add emotion and character of the client’s to a piece of work would have helped me to achieve a much higher quality result.
